Opportunities for Adults at Central Baptist Church

Authentic FamilyAt Central Baptist Church, adults of all ages will find numerous opportunities for service, fellowship, and spiritual growth.  From Senior Adult ministries, to Women’s and Men’s ministries, and many other opportunities besides, there is something for you at Central Baptist Church.  We offer these many opportunities in the hope that it might fulfill the calling that has been offered to us in 1 Thessalonians 5:11 – “Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.”

Senior Adult Ministry

The Senior Adult ministry of Central Baptist Church is led by Luci Stephens.  Throughout the year, the Senior Adults will be offered various opportunities for fellowship and spiritual growth.  Highlights from last year include a Senior Adult trip to Branson, a mid-day multi-week study on prayer with Pastor Wyman in which they worked through Dallas Willard’s Hearing God material, and a number of fellowship trips to various restaurants in and around the area.  Senior Adult Sunday School classes are also offered. Upcoming Senior Adult trips will be posted here and on the Events page.

Connections Women’s Ministry

Connections Women’s Ministry wants you to know that there is a place for YOU in women’s ministry at Central Baptist Church! Connections gives you the opportunity to connect with other women like you. Whether you are in the workplace, single or married, with children or without, there is a place for you! Everything about Connections is planned with the unique needs of women in mind. Our desire is to encourage and equip women in all seasons of life in their walk with the LORD and in service within the body and community. Some of the ways that Connections is doing this include:

  • sponsoring the Feminar Womens’ Conference in March of 2017,
  • offering helpful, challenging, and encouraging Bible studies for women in the Spring and Fall at Central Baptist Church,
  • offering “Joy that Moves,”  a FREE dance fitness class that engages the whole person—body, mind, and soul (email the church for details),
  • offering “Stitching Sisters,” a women’s sewing group (email the church for details),
  • having the “‘Tis the Season” Christmas event every year in which women come for food, fellowship, inspiration, and helpful, fun classes.

Women on Mission

Central Baptist Women on Mission is a group of missions-minded ladies who meet regularly to pray for missionaries and the cause of missions in the world. They meet on the second Tuesday of each month from 10:00-11:30 a.m., at which time they study together the Missions Mosaic Bible study and pray. They are involved in numerous missions projects including:

  • financially supporting Pure Water, Pure Love, a ministry of the Women’s Missionary Union that seeks “to provide missionaries with water filters and the people they serve with wells that offer clean water, free from disease-causing microorganisms,”
  • supporting the Central Baptist Church annual Christmas Closet,
  • supporting Heaven’s Loft, a Baptist Health Community Wellness Center “that encourages low-income expectant mothers and parents of young children to receive prenatal care, well-baby care, immunizations and education,” financially and by giving diapers, baby wipes, and other goods,
  • providing school supplies for children,
  • supporting the Central Baptist Church food pantry,
  • supporting Central Baptist Church foster parents,
  • supporting the ministry efforts of Paul Holderfield, Jr., and Friendly Chapel.

Women on Mission is led by Mary Holley. They will be having a WOM brunch on January 21, 2017. All women are encouraged to attend.
