Children’s Ministry

Children Becoming Christ-like

Authentic FamilyWe are eager to have the opportunity to partner in ministering to your family during this exciting stage of life! We are delighted that you are considering entrusting the well-being of your child to us. Our main focus in all teaching, programs and activities we offer is Children Becoming Christ-like.

We recognize the responsibility that we share with parents in building a spiritual foundation for even the youngest children. It is our goal to assist parents in making sure that coming to church is an enjoyable, happy experience for the entire family.

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School is a specialized form of Biblical education which focuses on children. Central usually holds the week-long event during the summer. We will publish the dates and promote the event as the time draws near. The program is for children 4 years old through 6th grade. In addition to solid biblical teaching, we provide fun crafts, games, other activities as well as food and music.

Nursery / Preschool

Our Nursery/Preschool department is a place where committed volunteers share God’s love with each child. While in our care children enjoy learning Bible truths through play time, structured age-appropriate activities and music. We strive to have the safest, cleanest and most loving care available.

Nursery/Preschool classes are offered:

  • Sunday-9:00 am Sunday School
  • Sunday 10:15 am-Extended Session/Worship (Children remain in the same room if dropped off at 9:00)
  • Sunday 6:00 pm
  • Wednesday 6:00 pm (Birth-2 year olds)

A nursing room is available for our moms who would like to feed their babies in a comfortable, private setting while viewing the worship service on a closed circuit tv. It is located next to the Bed Baby nurseries.

Children’s Church

Children’s Church is offered to 4 year old & Kindergarten children during our Sunday morning service at 10:15. While older children and adults are participating in worship in the sanctuary, our Children’s Church leaders are engaging children in their own time of worship!

Sound Bible teaching is offered in a variety of themes ranging from “Spy Chase,” “Upside Down Town,” to “Undersea Adventure.” “Elevate Jr.” curriculum themes change every 8 weeks and are sure to take your children on a fun journey of Biblical learning. Through a multi-media presentation, children participate in age-appropriate activites, games and music that teach and re-inforce the weekly lesson. Snacks are offered, so please advise if your child has any allergies or special dietary needs.

Seasonal Activities

Kidz Kamp

  • Our (completed) 3rd-6th Graders are encouraged to join us for a life changing experience at Bogg Springs Baptist Camp in Wickes, AR. Kidz Kamp will be the first week of August.

Baby Dedication

Every Mother’s Day we recognize families with babies born since the previous Mother’s Day, as well as families with young children who have not previously participated, but would like to. CBC is blessed with an abundance of young families, it is not unusual to have 15 babies (or more) at this service!

Mother’s Day Out

Mother’s Day Out

Our Mother’s Day Out program serves children from the age of six weeks through pre-kindergarten. We realize that our MDO families have entrusted us with the care of these children, who have been created in the very image of God. Each child is uniquely different in stature, yet all have the same needs in the areas of social, physical, emotional and spiritual growth. We strive to meet all of these needs by creating an atmosphere that reflects security, love and acceptance expressed in a Christian manner.

  • We offer MDO on Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00-2:00.
  • MDO operates on a school calendar cycle; there is no summer program.
  • Curriculum (age permitting) includes finger plays, songs, nursery rhymes, prayer at mealtime, arts/crafts, thematic units, letters and sounds, shapes, counting, numbers, daily Bible lessons, and social skills.
