Small Groups

Learning Together

authentic-family-landingWe believe that the best way to learn the scriptures is together.  God gave the Bible to His Church and it is as a church that we read it most effectively.  For this reason, we offer a number of small group opportunities for Bible study, teaching, and conversation around important topics that matter to you today.  These opportunities are offered at various times and in various places, so no matter what your schedule is, there is something for you!

We invite you to come and be a part of the Central Baptist small group ministries!  New classes and opportunities are periodically offered, so check back here for updates.

Sunday School

The primary small group teaching arm of Central Baptist Church is the Sunday School.  Our Sunday School meets every Sunday morning from 9:00-10:00 a.m. before our service begins at 10:15.  Central is truly gifted to have wonderful teachers!  Our classes are a mixture of age-graded and affinity group based.  There is a class for you!  The material taught in our classes varies in form and structure, but all of it is grounded in the scriptures and faithful to the gospel of Christ. View our current classes.

Central U

CentralU is an intensive small group discipleship ministry that meets primarily in the Fall.  Classes are offered on a variety of topics and subjects and are taught by more than capable teachers who have a passion for their topic.  The CentralU course schedule and registration book for Fall 2017 will be made available in the summer, but you can get a sense of what CentralU is about by checking out our Fall 2016 CentralU material.

Periodic Small Group Studies

It is not unusual for us to offer periodic small group studies throughout the year.  For instance, we have done home groups through Brad Brisco and Lance Ford’s tremendous Missional Essentials workbook. Our women’s ministry frequently has small groups meeting throughout the year.  Pastor Wyman has taught through Dallas Willard’s Hearing God material for our Senior Adults and will be doing another Senior Adult study in 2017.  Our men will be studying J. Heinrich Arnold’s Freedom From Sinful Thoughts in a series of lunch meetings beginning January 12 and women’s studies are often offered throughout the year.

The best way to learn about these periodic small group gatherings is to come and be a part of the life of Central Baptist Church.  Also, check back here frequently.
